Save £££’s on UK TV Systems with our Spring Special Offers

We’ve slashed our prices right across the board!

It may not have escaped your notice that there are some pretty hot deals to be had here at UKTV2C this month.

Each and every one of our UK TV systems, whether it be the standard entry-level Sky Satellite Premium Slingbox right up to the all singing, all dancing Sky HD Movies & Entertainment bundle have all had their prices slashed when you take out a 12 month commitment. So whether you want just the basic Sky and free-to-air TV channels or must have the full spectrum of television entertainment at your fingertips, you could save anything from £175.00 – £450.00 – that’s a massive discount!

The best is yet to come in 2014

This year is set to be a thriller for entertainment, sports and movies so you wouldn’t want to miss out. We’ve just had the start of the new F1 season and already it has got off to a superb start, with Mercedes being the surprise package, out front with a solid lead and a great car to boot following this season’s new car rules and the post-V8 era. Lewis Hamilton and Niko Rosberg could be set to develop a healthy and consistent rivalry in the months to come.

Then there is of course the Premier League run in which looks set to go down to the wire. Whether you’re interested in the top half or the relegation zone, there’s certainly going to be drama right to the last whistle. Liverpool are still dreaming of title glory after 20 years of waiting, whilst favourites Manchester City are trying to fend off the ever present threat of José Mourinho’s Chelsea who know how to grind out results and get into the minds of the opposition.

Just below them, Arsenal are now starting to look over their shoulders with a rejuvenated and energised Everton breathing down their necks. With just a few games to go, the Merseyside team now have their fate firmly in their own hands and could make a well deserved return to Champions League football next season.

At the foot of the table, poor Sunderland fans will be dreading their final few games with matches to come against some fierce opposition. Barring a miracle, relegation looks certain. The situation doesn’t look much better for Cardiff or Fulham fans either, with time running out and poor results, grabbing points from any game up until May looks almost beyond them. Norwich and West Brom fans will be praying they can hang onto their Premier League status for one more season. They too could easily go down if results go the wrong way.

Don’t forget the big samba party coming up in Brazil this summer

Of course, we can’t mention football without a word about this summer’s long awaited World Cup in Brazil. It is sure to be a fantastic party and one that every fan of the beautiful game will be looking forward to. Coverage will be round the clock on BBC and ITV and you would be crazy to miss it! With England travelling to South America, can we finally put on a display that befits our country’s reputation? We’ll just have to wait and see if Roy Hodgson’s men can silence the critics and upset the odds in Brazil.

There’s so much more sport and other amazing events to come as well. We haven’t even mentioned that Andy Murray will start the defence of his Wimbledon title at SW19. And there’s international test cricket to look forward to, plus so much more. You’d be a fool to mis it.

So if you want to enjoy the best of the British summer, check out our special offer TV systems and grab yourself a super deal, saving hundreds of pounds too!

Sky adds 14 new entertainment channels to Sky Go

Comedy Central, MTV, Dave and Gold comes to Sky Go!

On-demand and live TV enthusiasts will be rejoicing since Sky announced on 19th November 2013, that 14 new entertainment channels have been added to Sky Go, taking their already impressive line-up of live UK TV streaming to a total of 57 channels.

The 14 new channels added to the service include Comedy Central, MTV, Dave, Watch, Gold, Discovery, National Geographic and History, giving an even wider range of entertainment to watch using a Mac or PC, plus mobiles and tablets via iOS and Android on the Sky Go app.

What is great news for Sky Go users is the additional channels come at no extra cost!

On demand is not the future – it’s now!

In recent weeks, Sky claimed that over three million requests were made to access television and movies via on demand between October 7 and October 13, with 219,000 users upgrading to their service in the last quarter of 2013.

Luke Bradley-Jones; who is Sky’s Brand Director of TV Products explains the decision:

“The addition of these new channels is part of our continued commitment to provide our customers with a great TV experience whenever and wherever they want it, all at no extra cost. Customers now have even more choice and flexibility whether they want to watch TV Box Sets, live Barclays Premier League football, the latest blockbusters from Sky Movies or awarding-winning drama from a wider range of entertainment channels.”

Competition is hotting up

At the beginning of 2013, Sky expanded the Sky Go service to enable up to four users to view on-demand television content for just £5 a month, with the bonus of exclusive added content including TV series and movie back catalogues.

With the recent addition of BT Sport making huge waves into the television arena, and their recent acquisition of exclusive UEFA Champions League coverage, having been previously the sole domain of Sky Sports viewers; Sky had to make some big changes to maintain their subscriber numbers and keep existing customers happy.

It’s also no surprise that with the shift in user trends towards on-demand content accompanied with the recent realisation of BT Sport taking a huge share of viewing figures, that Sky felt a real urgency to add value to their existing services as soon as possible.

So what’s new for Sky Go users?

We’re keeping a very close eye on developments in the IPTV arena and are fully aware that our customers are demanding more and more entertainment online as lifestyles change and viewer tastes adapt. Whether customers want to watch sports, soaps, drama series or news; we’ll ensure we deliver the best service at the most competitive prices.

Existing Sky Go VPN users will be delighted to discover that they can now access all of the following great new Sky Go channels at no extra cost:

  • MTV
  • Comedy Central
  • Gold
  • Watch
  • Dave
  • Alibi
  • National Geographic
  • National Geographic Wild
  • Discovery
  • TLC
  • Animal Planet
  • History
  • Good Food
  • Eden

The strangest month of sport

This past month has for the most part, been very out of the ordinary when it comes to sport. The biggest story was the big fight that never was… David Haye infamously postpones his highly anticipated fight with Tyson Fury at the eleventh hour due to a cut eye received during sparring practice; leaving ticket holders and pay-per-view boxing fans fuming!

Now one could argue that this is putting safety first but most pro’s in the game are questioning what on earth ‘The Hayemaker’ was doing sparring with top level boxers with no head guard so close to a major boxing bout that could lead to a World Championship fight. Only Haye knows but sure as anything, boxing fans are not impressed by this latest twist in Haye’s already shaky career and this only goes to further tarnish his flagging popularity and reputation.

Are we witnessing a sea-change in Premier League football?

Many experts and sporting pundits are yet to be fully convinced but most would argue that the Premier League table has a very unfamiliar look to it this season. With the surprise results of late seeing champions Manchester United get beat on three occasions already, noisy neighbours Manchester City also looking unconvincing and Chelsea just taking their time to get up to full steam; the door has swung wide open for the likes of Liverpool and even more surprising, Southampton to crash the top four party.

Of course, it is still early days but even with just seven games played and an international break to come, here at UKTV2C we’re convinced that this season still has many twists and turns to come and confidently predict that at least one of the so-called “top four” will not make the cut this season. Who will it be? We have an inkling but let’s see what transpires over the next few months…

It’s business as usual on the track

F1 fans could be forgiven for suggesting that this season’s drivers championship is all but over. With a handful of races left, Vettel simply keeps performing. His consistency and winning mentality looks set to make him one of the greatest drivers in history and with title number four well within his sights, who’s to say that Michael Schumacher’s record could be under serious threat if he continues this run of form.

For us fans, it’s a little predictable and even Lewis Hamilton recently suggested that F1 is becoming boring with the same results week after week. Sour grapes or gamesmanship, who knows? But all we can say is that it is up to the other teams to step up their games and give the likes of Lewis and co the cars they need to make Formula One racing exciting again!

So what else is on the box?

Aside form the usual sport, there’s a ton of great shows and movies coming this season to Sky so mark your diaries for a few belters when it comes to drama from across the pond. Don’t miss the smash hit series ‘The Newsroom’, made by Oscar-winning Aaron Sorkin. A gripping drama set behind the scenes of the highly-rated News Night, on the fictional cable network ACN.

The hugely popular ‘Game of Thrones’ is back on our screen and as brilliant as ever. A show this good doesn’t need any introductions. Another show also worth checking out on Sky Atlantic HD is ‘The Wire’; an American television crime drama series set and produced in and around Baltimore.

So the nights might be getting a little darker and colder but we’re pretty sure there’s plenty on UK TV to brighten your days. Check back soon for more blog updates.

Watch Haye vs Fury, September 28th on Sky

The British fight of the year that everyone’s talking about!

This coming Saturday, 28th September, Sky Box Office will be beaming live coverage of David “The Hayemaker” Haye vs the up-and-coming, undefeated Tyson Fury from the Manchester Arena. It’s a fight that will launch the winner to the top of the pecking order and cement them as number one contender for a world title shot with a Klitschko brother. There is great divide amongst the boxing fraternity, with many leading commentators and current pro’s disagreeing on who will win this hugely anticipated bout. One thing they can agree on is it will come down to a few key factors.

Survival of the fittest or fastest?

Height, weight and reach differences are all on the table, with the majority of the stats heavily in favour of Fury, standing at a giddying 6′ 9″ tall. With a height advantage of nearly half a foot, a 7 inch reach advantage and an impressive 21-0 win record, Haye has his work cut out if he thinks this one will be a stroll in the park.

No doubt, the taller man will use the jab to his advantage, whilst Haye will have to use his greater experience and pace to outwit the clearly heavier and slower Fury. With Haye’s punch speed and more nimble feet (just as long as he doesn’t break another toe) and arguably better stamina, could we be in for a British boxing classic to rival the days of Benn vs Eubank or Lewis vs Bruno? We certainly hope so!

Who’s the smart money on?

This fight has an incredible amount at stake for both fighters. Money, reputations and careers!

Fury truly feels he is the real contender in the current age of heavyweight boxing. Haye has a point to prove that he is still at the top of the pecking order in world boxing. So will we see a changing of the guard with Haye taking another humbling defeat and Fury stepping into the limelight or has this fight come too early for the big man?

Haye has everything to lose and a defeat will undoubtedly mean the end of his career. So this fight is totally dependent on Haye’s performance and which game he brings to the ring. If we see a repeat of his Klitschko debacle, Fury will just pick him off and wear him down into the latter rounds. If Haye is quick, sharp and decisive, he may get the KO a lot of people are predicting.

With just over a week to go, we can’t wait!

Whoever wins will see their stock rise significantly and both Klitschko brothers will find facing the winner of this bout unavoidable. One of these guys is going to get a world title shot. Who will it be? The best place to find out is live on Sky. Customers can see this fight and book their pay-per-view ticket from Friday 20th September so contact the UKTV2C team if you want to see the fight live next week on Sky Box Office.

The transfer window is shut so back to business

The Premier League silly season has ended so let’s get on with the football!

It comes as a mighty relief to most once the summer transfer window shuts. Almost from the last kick of a football from the previous season does the madness start. The rumour mills start to turn and the back pages are full of stories that after a period of time; simply get tiring.

I think we can all collectively breathe a sigh of relief that this window has closed with all the furore around Gareth Bale’s world record transfer fee to Real Madrid. In an age of so-called austerity, the figures being quoted does make anyone with an ounce of sanity question if the world really has finally gone mad!

It’s September so let’s actually enjoy the football

Here at UKTV2C, we’re glad to see the back of the transfer activity and hello to the start of the season when we only talk about what’s important… stuff that happens on the field! September is the month when we can all see who’s gone and who’s come into various teams and see what kind of shape the league season will take.

So far there’s no out and out favourite and in this era of post-Ferguson transition, it could be a really open season. Liverpool have got off to a great start but one wonders if they can sustain it for long. The Manchester giants have both failed to get all cylinders firing and whilst the two north London rivals in Spurs and Arsenal have already had their first head-to-head; it is still too early to tell who will be the frontrunners come the winter time.

The road to Brazil 2014

Tomorrow night sees the second instalment of international qualifiers for next years World Cup in Brazil this past week. Scotland visit Macedonia, whilst Wales host Serbia. Sadly both of these home nations won’t be heading off to south America next year as the results have been poor. England however, who are still very much in the mix, go to Ukraine for what could be the deciding game of the group.

With a few injuries and suspensions to contend with, Roy Hodgson knows he needs a solid England performance to get any kind of result against the highly rated Ukrainians. Wherever you are, you can catch the match live on ITV. If you’re abroad, you can sign up to use our VPN service and watch it live online via ITVPlayer. It’s really quick and simple to do!

The final slam of the year!

In just a couple of hours time, the world’s two best tennis players will go face-to-face to try to win this seasons last piece of grand slam silverware in Flushing Meadow, New York. World number 1 Novak Djokovic will head onto the Arthur Ashe Stadium to face the very in-form Rafael Nadal in what could be a an absolute belter of a match!

Sadly, Britain’s defending US Open champion Andy Murray fell at the quarter finals stage to a very solid performance from Stan Wawrinka, leaving the path to glory for Rafa and Nolé very much wide open. No doubt Andy will be back to make amends soon.

As for the final, it’s going to be too close to call but one things for sure… there’ll be a real battle of wills out there and you can catch the final live on Sky Go on Sky Sports 1 HD. If you want to catch Sky TV whilst on-the-go and abroad, speak to us about one of our great value Sky Go packages.

The summer of sport is hotting up at UKTV2C

Now is the perfect time to get Sky TV abroad

If you haven’t noticed, the UK is currently experiencing a summer of sporting success. Only a few weeks back, Andy Murray ended the UK’s 77 year wait for a Wimbledon champion by beating the world number 1 Novak Djokovic in straight sets; under the intense heat and atmosphere of centre court. It was a moment not to be missed.

Just this past weekend, we have yet again another Tour de France winner. Never in the history of the sport has the UK had a winner so last year was huge. This year is simply unbelievable to think we have done a UK double in world cycling!

The sporting victories just keep on coming

The biggest head scratcher of all has to be the cricket. The Ashes Test Series is well under way and already, England are 2-0 up against the Aussies who have frankly looked abject at best. The coverage on Sky Sports Ashes HD has been nothing short of world class, with excellent analysis, interviews and insider knowledge from the world’s best pundits. It has been the perfect accompaniment to the best test series England has performed in for quite some time.

Already there is talk of a possible 5 nil whitewash! Now, we do like to get carried away in the UK and recent history has taught us to be very cautious when making bold predictions however, with the current form of England’s bowling attack, the outfield and not to mention the solid partnerships at the crease, this story could realistically unfold.

Many critics are asking where the typical dogged Aussie spirit has gone? Well, it could return if England start to get complacent. The next test match could be the decider so our advice is to get yourself one of our amazing value UK TV packages and tune into Sky Sports Ashes HD to catch all the action and see for yourself.

Can you believe the new football season is just around the corner?

Yes, it only seemed like yesterday that we were tuning into the Champions League final to see Bayern Munich finally end their hoodoo and lift the coveted trophy once again. Well, after a great summer off, the time has nearly come to start all over again.

Silly season is still firmly here, with all kinds of ridiculous rumours filling the back pages of the tabloids. I think we will all be collectively relieved once the season kicks off again and we can actually concentrate on the football and not who’s buying who and who’s playing for which team.

No doubt all eyes will be on Old Trafford as we enter a new era of football without Sir Alex Ferguson. The return of José Mourinho to Chelsea is also going to be interesting and with changes at the top at Manchester City too, the winners of this years Premier League title is wide open.

There’s a whole load of pre-season fixtures begin played out right now so if you want to see how your teams latest acquisitions are fairing, tune into Sky Sports and see who they get on. If you haven’t got one of our packages, simply register an account. From there you can either request a free 24 hour demo or buy one of our superb value UK TV packages and take Sky anywhere in the world.
